Job Requirements
- Availability for all University of Michigan home football games
- availability predominantly for evening and night shifts
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- physical ability to bend, twist, pull and push
- prior barback experience preferred
- high energy level
- strong work ethic
Job Qualifications
- Barback experience or exposure to bar operations preferred
- strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- good communication skills
- ability to maintain composure under pressure
- physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and constant movement
- positive attitude and respect for colleagues and clients
Job Duties
- Take initiative to complete work in a timely and consistent manner
- constantly move and observe in this physically challenging role demonstrating a high energy level
- bring meticulous attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness every shift
- work autonomously to support the bartender
- have general knowledge of bar operations
- take direction and follow instructions in a noisy, fast-paced, high-volume bar
- bring a positive attitude and treat clients and colleagues with respect
- act as an integral part of the team liaising between servers, bussers and kitchen staff
- maintain composure, remain calm and patient despite dynamic fast-paced environment
- perform opening and closing duties with thoroughness and attention to detail
- ensure bar and supplies are stocked for next shift
- display energy and initiative
- perform constant movement between kitchen, bar and floor and up/down stairs
