Job Description
Mexico Ceaty is a dynamic restaurant concept that offers a unique dining experience combining innovative cuisine, exceptional service, and a vibrant atmosphere. This establishment is part of the renowned Jason Dady Restaurant Group, a culinary force that has shaped San Antonio's food scene for over twenty years. Founded by Chef Jason Dady, this group boasts a diverse portfolio of successful dining venues, including Tre Trattoria, Range at Hotel Embassy Downtown, Two Bros BBQ Market, and others. Mexico Ceaty stands out as the group's most ambitious project, marking the largest single culinary footprint on the San Antonio River Walk, one of Texas' most visited destinations. Located inside the bustling Shops at Rivercenter, Mexico Ceaty is designed to deliver premium hospitality standards, meticulous attention to detail, and an unforgettable guest experience, making it a landmark dining spot in the region.
The Barback role at Mexico Ceaty is critical to the smooth operation of the bar and overall guest satisfaction. Known as the engine behind the magic, the barback ensures that the bartenders can perform their craft efficiently without interruption. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires constant attention to detail and a proactive mindset. The barback's primary responsibility is to keep the ice bins full, considered the single most important task, alongside maintaining a continuous supply of bottles, garnishes, juices, and other bar essentials throughout the shift. Glassware cleanliness and availability are also paramount; the barback must bus and wash glasses nonstop ensuring the bar never runs out. Keeping the bar back area clean, safe, and organized not only supports the bartenders but also contributes to the overall efficiency and safety of the workplace.
Furthermore, the barback assists bartenders with prep tasks before and during service and occasionally runs drinks to tables when extra team support is needed. A successful barback is someone who knows where everything is stored to restock swiftly, takes initiative without constant supervision, and is committed to learning and possibly progressing to bartending themselves. This role demands someone with Get It, Want It, Capacity to Do It (GWC) — meaning they understand their responsibilities, desire the job, and have the ability to perform under pressure. Winning in this role is defined by seamless bar operation, no interruptions for bartenders looking for supplies, a fully stocked bar throughout the shift, and positive recognition from the Shift Lead and bartenders alike.
Mexico Ceaty is an equal opportunity employer that values workforce diversity and encourages candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Working at Mexico Ceaty offers the chance to be part of a prestigious restaurant group, gain experience in a high-volume, energetic environment, and be integral to a team dedicated to superior service and culinary excellence. This employment opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to a memorable dining experience for guests on the vibrant San Antonio River Walk.
