The Barback position at Tom's Watch Bar is a crucial role that supports the bartenders and helps maintain a smooth running bar and lounge operation. The barback ensures that all bar and lounge equipment and supplies are maintained at proper levels throughout operational hours, guaranteeing excellent service to every guest. Responsibilities include setting up the bar and lounge areas for opening, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness, assisting bartenders by monitoring the condition of cocktail napkins, glasses, and cleanliness, replenishing ice supplies, ensuring bartenders have necessary supplies throughout their shift, and operating glasswashers. Furthermore, barbacks are responsible for sweeping and mopping all bar areas at the end of each shift, including removing, cleaning, and replacing matting.

This position requires someone with previous restaurant experience, an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with bartenders and other staff. Physical demands include repeated bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, along with continuous standing and activities like mopping, sweeping, and stocking the bar areas. The role demands someone physically fit and able to perform tasks that require both stamina and strength, such as moving cases of liquor and cleaning materials.
