Job Description

The Union Venture Group is a well-established hospitality company with over 40 years of combined experience in the food and beverage industry. They have successfully launched more than 20 projects across major markets including Austin, Houston, Dallas, and Fort Collins, Colorado. The company was founded by passionate entrepreneurs who started their hospitality business from humble beginnings seventeen years ago. Their very first concept debuted in Austin and it was immediately successful, which accelerated their growth rapidly. Today, The Union Venture Group stands as a prime example of a start-from-scratch success story, largely attributed to the founders' keen ability to create unique concepts tailored to specific demographics within various metropolitan areas. They pride themselves on maintaining high standards not only for their projects but also for their employees. Their team members are viewed as vital assets, playing a key role in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the quality that customers have come to expect. This culture of dedication and teamwork is a cornerstone of their continued success.

The Union Venture Group is currently seeking an observant and efficient Barback/Utility team member to join their dynamic hospitality environment. This role is essential in supporting the bartenders and ensuring the smooth operation of the bar. The Barback/Utility employee works closely with other team members to guarantee prompt and seamless service to customers. The responsibilities encompass maintaining cleanliness throughout the establishment, preparing garnishes, and keeping the bar well stocked with necessities such as napkins, straws, and glassware. Furthermore, the role requires attentiveness and a good knowledge of menu items to assist the team effectively in a fast-paced and often busy setting.

This position offers a competitive pay rate of $70.00 per hour, underlining the company's commitment to recognizing the value of hard work within the hospitality sector. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly with coworkers and guests, maintain a clean and healthy environment both front and back of house, and perform various tasks such as cleaning bathrooms, storage areas, and stocking supplies. This encompasses a broad range of duties essential for supporting bartenders and ensuring the establishment runs efficiently. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate well with other team members, reflecting the cooperative spirit that defines The Union Venture Group’s workforce.

The role requires certifications such as TABC and Food Handlers, emphasizing the importance of health, safety, and regulatory compliance in food and beverage services. New hires will also benefit from perks like free parking and the opportunity to work with a friendly, supportive team. Additionally, acceptance into this position provides automatic hiring privileges at multiple venues owned by the group, including 77 Degrees and The Rose Room, presenting opportunities for continued employment and growth within the organization. The Union Venture Group’s commitment to equal opportunity means all qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other protected characteristic, reflecting their inclusive workplace culture and dedication to fairness.
