The role of Bar Supervisor at Delaware North’s Climate Pledge Arena is a critical supervisory position responsible for overseeing bar operations to ensure excellent service delivery and operational efficiency. As a Bar Supervisor, you will play a key role in managing a high-performing team of bartenders, ensuring adherence to company policies, health and safety standards, and maintaining budgetary controls for the bar.

The position requires a versatile individual who can oversee bar set-up and closing procedures, manage inventory and financial reports, and assist bartenders during busy service periods. Additionally, the Bar Supervisor is responsible for monitoring employee performance, recommending personnel actions, and ensuring that staff meet appearance and uniform guidelines. Working in a fast-paced environment, the supervisor must possess strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office to handle sales data and reconcile accounts accurately. The role involves physical activities such as frequent walking throughout the facility, standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and lifting stock up to 50 pounds, which are integral to managing bar operations efficiently.

This role demands a candidate who is at least 21 years old, with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience and one year of bartending experience. Knowledge of bartending techniques, sanitation protocols, safety considerations, and basic math skills for cash and inventory management is essential. Job Duties

  • Oversee bar set-up and closing procedures on event days
  • Ensure that all company policies are followed by associates
  • Observe, evaluate, and document job performances of associates
  • Recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, disciplinary action, and discharges
  • Ensure associates meet appearance standards and follow all uniform guidelines
  • Order and maintain product inventory
  • Complete daily sales reports and reconciliation
  • Assist with end-of-month inventory and financial reporting
  • Assist bartending associates in serving guests as business levels demand
