Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree preferred
  • minimum age of 18 years according to state alcohol service laws
  • valid Food Handler Certificate
  • Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission certification
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to perform basic mathematical operations
  • physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • willingness to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment
  • ability to work flexible hours

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree preferred
  • must be at least 18 years of age based upon state requirements to serve alcohol
  • ability to speak, write and understand simple instructions in English
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus
  • must have a Food Handler Certificate and be Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission certified
  • must be a team player and customer-service oriented
  • ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • familiarity with POS system preferred
  • basic computer skills are a plus

Job Duties

  • Adheres to the company’s food safety policies and customer service principles
  • complies with the company’s alcohol service policy and all food and beverage regulations
  • prepares drinks including seafood cocktails according to company recipes
  • shucks oysters and prepares tostadas according to company recipes
  • enters food and beverage orders into the point of sale system and keeps records of oyster tags
  • handles customer complaints or problems in a positive, courteous manner
  • properly processes customers’ payments and provides accurate change
  • ensures the balance of the bank at the end of the shift
  • maintains a high level of cleanliness throughout the bar area
  • restocks and replenishes bar supplies and performs opening and closing duties as assigned
