Job Description
Hotel Clermont is a renowned hospitality establishment located in the heart of a vibrant city, celebrated for its unique blend of historic charm and modern luxury. As a boutique hotel, Hotel Clermont offers guests a distinctive experience through its thoughtfully designed spaces, exceptional service, and vibrant social hubs. Among these, The Rooftop Bar and Bar Caravan stand out as premier beverage destinations, attracting both locals and visitors with their innovative drink offerings and lively atmospheres. The hotel prides itself on creating memorable moments through curated experiences that combine comfort, style, and authenticity, making it a preferred choice for travelers and socialites alike.
The Bar Manager at Hotel Clermont plays a pivotal role ensuring these two dynamic beverage programs operate seamlessly and deliver exceptional guest experiences. This position requires a proactive leader who can inspire and manage a high-energy team while maintaining strict standards for quality, safety, and cost efficiency. The role involves overseeing daily bar operations at both The Rooftop Bar and Bar Caravan, environments known for their bustling activity and high guest expectations. As the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling bartenders, servers, and barbacks, fostering an atmosphere of teamwork and professionalism.
A key aspect of this role is managing inventory control with an emphasis on reducing waste and optimizing pour costs. You will take charge of liquor, wine, and beer ordering, supported by conducting weekly inventory counts, ensuring that the bar operations run smoothly and profitably. Creativity is also essential, as you will lead the development of seasonal cocktail menus that not only excite the palate but also align with the hotel's profitability goals. Your keen eye for detail will guarantee that every drink served meets Hotel Clermont's house standards for presentation, speed, and taste.
Safety and compliance with local liquor laws and health regulations are paramount. As the 'sheriff' of safety, you will enforce proper ID checks, prevent over-serving, and uphold rigorous health department standards to protect both guests and staff. Maintaining the right ambiance is also part of your charge—monitoring lighting, music, and the overall flow to create an environment that feels inviting and energizing at all times.
This is a demanding role that requires at least five years of experience in a high-volume bar setting with a minimum of one to two years in a supervisory capacity. Your mixology skills, knowledge of craft beer and wine pairings, and expertise in cost control will be essential assets. Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast, Square, or Aloha, alongside inventory management software, will allow you to efficiently handle day-to-day operations. Physical stamina is necessary due to standing for extended periods and the ability to maneuver heavy kegs. Flexibility in scheduling is required as this position involves late nights, weekends, and holiday shifts.
Joining the Hotel Clermont team as Bar Manager not only means leading one of the city's most vibrant beverage programs but also being part of a company committed to excellence and a culture of continuous growth. This role offers an opportunity to make a lasting impact on guest experiences and contribute to the success of a distinguished hospitality venue.
