The Bar Manager role at TGI Fridays is pivotal in maintaining the establishment's vision to be the Best Corner Bar in Town. This position entails managing all aspects of bar operations with a focus on providing speed of service and accurately prepared mixed beverages while delivering outstanding guest experiences through responsible alcohol service. The Bar Manager will take charge of controlling beverage costs, production, labor management, and beverage quality. Additionally, this role is about driving profits and increasing sales by implementing local marketing campaigns that attract and retain guests. The Bar Manager will lead a team of bartenders, overseeing their training, development, and performance to uphold TGI Fridays' high service standards. This position requires someone who can handle daily operational decisions, support the staff, interact with guests to ensure satisfaction, and maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar.

Key responsibilities include driving sales through local marketing initiatives, identifying and addressing operational opportunities, monitoring competitor activities to stay competitive, and collaborating with the team to promote events and specials. The Bar Manager is also accountable for staffing, training, and coaching employees, maintaining scheduling needs, ensuring compliance with recipe standards, and managing inventory effectively to minimize waste and control costs. In the absence of the General Manager, the Bar Manager will act as Manager on Duty, overseeing the entire restaurant operation and ensuring safety and security procedures are in place. This role demands exceptional leadership capabilities such as talent assessment and development, strong communication skills, conflict resolution, team motivation, and adaptability to change.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of bar and restaurant management experience, knowledge of purchasing and production, and the physical ability to meet job requirements including standing for long periods and lifting up to 30 pounds. A demonstrated passion for guest service and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure are essential traits. Compensation for this role is up to $60,000 per year, reflecting the important responsibility held by the Bar Manager at this lively and fast-paced TGI Fridays location. This is a full-time opportunity to lead a key component of the restaurant’s success and enhance the overall guest experience through expert bar management.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to walk and stand for up to 10 hours
  • Must be able to frequently bend and stoop

  • Must have experience managing bar operations

Job Qualifications

  • College coursework with Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of restaurant management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of bar experience with extensive knowledge of bar operations
  • Prior experience in purchasing and production
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to coach and develop team members

Job Duties
