The Bar Manager role is pivotal in maintaining this high standard of service and operational excellence. This full-time position involves overseeing all aspects of the bar’s day-to-day operations, ensuring not only the smooth functioning of the bar but also the delivery of superior customer service. The Bar Manager is responsible for managing and motivating the bar staff, maintaining inventory, and enforcing compliance with all alcohol regulations and health standards. A major part of this role is to ensure customer satisfaction by creating a welcoming environment and addressing any concerns promptly and effectively.

In addition to staff management and customer interaction, the Bar Manager plays an essential role in controlling costs by monitoring inventory, reducing waste, and analyzing sales data. They collaborate closely with suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels and secure the best products at cost-effective prices. The Bar Manager also leads efforts to review and improve product quality by researching new vendors and trends in beverages. An emphasis on safety and sanitation is critical, with the Bar Manager ensuring adherence to regulations such as ServSafe Alcohol, Food Safety, OSHA, and HACCP standards.

This role requires leadership and strong communication skills, as the Bar Manager will train, motivate, and mentor team members to foster a positive and productive work environment. They are also tasked with maintaining the bar’s cleanliness and safety standards, managing scheduling and shift operations, and supporting the General Managers with financial tasks such as cash handling and deposit logging.

Overall, the Bar Manager is integral to driving revenue growth while nurturing a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. They balance operational responsibilities with the goal of maximizing guest satisfaction and creating memorable visitor experiences, reinforcing the establishment’s position as a preferred destination for dining and socializing.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Prior front of house and back of house manager experience
  • 3 plus years of restaurant experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication
  • Follows direction with focused attention
  • Ability to positively motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards
  • Maintains a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations
  • Adhere to company uniform attire and appearance standards
  • Completes all ongoing certifications and validations
  • Must possess proper food handler and alcohol dispensing certifications
  • Can intelligently talk about beer, wine, and spirits
  • Should have an aptitude for driving sales through cultivation of new guests and retention of current guests

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent, high-quality beverages are served to customers
  • Manage and track inventory to ensure adequate stock
