The Bar Manager oversees all daily bar operations including inventory management, staff supervision, compliance with alcohol laws and safety standards, and cost control measures. This role requires not only strong leadership and management capabilities but also an aptitude for enhancing the guest experience, building lasting relationships, and driving business growth through effective team training, motivation, and mentorship. Key responsibilities include managing beverage quality, inventory tracking, customer engagement, responding to complaints, overseeing cleanliness, ensuring health and safety adherence, and upholding company values and standards. The Bar Manager collaborates closely with General Managers for financial oversight including cash handling and deposit management. This position demands hands-on involvement in employee development, operational control, and service excellence, all while maintaining compliance with ServSafe Alcohol, Food, OSHA, and HACCP standards. The role also includes strategic tasks such as vendor relationship management, sales data analysis, budget understanding, and the implementation of cost-saving measures without compromising quality. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in beverage service, possess relevant certifications, and show a proven track record in leadership within the hospitality sector. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Prior front of house and back of house manager experience
  • 3 plus years of restaurant experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication
  • Follows direction with focused attention
  • Ability to positively motivate employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards
  • Maintains a calm, tactful demeanor when dealing with difficult situations
  • Adhere to company uniform attire and appearance standards
  • Completes all ongoing certifications and validations
  • Must possess proper food handler and alcohol dispensing certifications
  • Can intelligently talk about beer, wine, and spirits
  • Should have an aptitude for driving sales through cultivation of new guests and retention of current guests

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent, high-quality beverages are served to customers
  • Manage and track inventory to ensure adequate stock
  • Create a welcoming environment for guests and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors
  • Train and supervise bar staff to ensure knowledge about product and policies
  • Oversee the cleanliness of the bar area, being alert for health hazards and regulation violations
