The Bar Manager role is a critical position responsible for managing the day-to-day bar activities, ensuring both guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. The successful candidate will be charged with managing bar staff, strictly adhering to alcohol regulations and safety standards, and controlling operational costs effectively. This person will be an experienced manager capable of delivering superior customer service, maintaining an inviting atmosphere, and fostering strong team relationships. The Bar Manager will play a key role in driving revenue growth through effective inventory management, staff training, new vendor research, and attentive guest engagement. This leadership role requires a balance between administrative oversight and hands-on management, including staff scheduling, cash handling, compliance monitoring, and maintaining the bar's overall good image.
Additionally, the Bar Manager will be instrumental in mentoring and motivating staff by providing coaching and performance feedback, promoting a healthy work culture, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety regulations such as ServSafe Alcohol, Food, OSHA, and HACCP. Responsibilities will include training bar staff to be knowledgeable about products and company policies, overseeing cleanliness and safety of the bar area, handling customer complaints efficiently, and maintaining vendor relationships for cost-effective procurement. The position also demands financial acumen, including monitoring budgets, analyzing sales data, and controlling food waste and labor costs to meet revenue goals. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Prior front of house and back of house manager experience
- Three plus years of restaurant experience
- Supervisory experience
- Strong leadership and management skills

Job Duties
- Ensure consistent, high-quality beverages are served to customers
- Manage and track inventory to ensure adequate stock
- Create a welcoming environment for guests and maximize customer satisfaction
- Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
- Regularly review product quality and research new vendors
- Train and supervise bar staff so they are knowledgeable about product and policies
- Oversee the cleanliness of the bar area while being alert for possible health hazards and regulation violations
- Manage the restaurant's good image and suggest ways to improve it
- Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
- Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
- Continuously touch tables and get to know guests
- Train and develop team members to ensure competency and high standards of customer service
- Train, motivate, and mentor team members by providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
- Adhere to ServSafe Alcohol, Food, OSHA, and HACCP standards
- Safeguard team members and facility by ensuring all Safety & Security Policies are adhered
- Maintain relationships with vendors/suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries
- Understand budgets and analyze sales data to meet revenue goals while controlling costs
- Assist General Managers with cash handling, including accurate deposit records
- Manage daily restaurant operations, including opening, closing, scheduling, and shift management
- Uphold company policies and promote a positive culture
- Monitor food and beverage preparation, presentation, and quality
- Report facility concerns and submit maintenance requests.
