Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One or more years of experience as a barback in a high volume, upscale hotel or free-standing lounge environment
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shifts
  • Certification such as Certified Food Service Manager or TIPS or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English

  • Basic knowledge of wine, spirits, and food
  • Polite, friendly, and helpful toward guests, management, and coworkers
  • Exceptional guest service skills
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lift items up to 50 pounds repeatedly during shifts
  • Certified Food Service Manager, TIPS, or equivalent certification
  • Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Provide support to bartenders and beverage servers by stocking service areas and maintaining supplies throughout shifts
  • Assist in cleaning and stocking glassware
  • Participate in monthly inventory counts
  • Stock and maintain supplies in all bar and service areas
  • Inspect and prepare service ware prior to use
  • Assist servers by removing soiled glasses and plates during busy periods
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions of lounge and service areas
  • Complete post-shift clean-up and side work duties
  • Organize and maintain storage spaces
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required
  • Monitor guest consumption to ensure responsible service
  • Record all guest orders accurately
  • Prepare mixers and garnishes prior to and during service
  • Set up bar service areas with necessary glassware and supplies
  • Restock portable bars with mixers and alcoholic beverages
  • Promote teamwork and communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Ensure compliance with hotel uniform and grooming standards
  • Perform closing duties, securing inventory and supplies
  • Notify supervisors promptly of any issues or unusual matters
  • Stay current with hotel information and service standards
