The Bar Back position at San Manuel Casino plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the beverage service areas. Reporting directly to the Beverage Supervisor, the Bar Back assists bartenders by maintaining fully stocked bar stations, preparing garnishes, and ensuring cleanliness and organization to support premium guest service. This position involves collaborating closely with bartenders and cocktail servers during high-traffic periods, helping greet guests, and facilitating timely drink service. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum three months of related experience or training
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler's Card within 90 days of employment
- Required to obtain and maintain TIPS Certification upon employment
- Must comply with San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission requirements which may include obtaining a gaming license
- Ability to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and perform tasks involving stooping, kneeling, reaching, and walking
- Clear communication skills in English
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum three months of related experience or training
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Proficient in basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Capability to manage cash transactions accurately and securely
- Friendly and efficient service delivery
- Ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure
Job Duties
- Keeps the bar stations fully stocked including ice, mixes, garnishes, napkins, and straws
- Provides coverage to other bar areas as needed to ensure consistent service
- Ensures overall cleanliness, organization, and preparedness of the bar workspace and adjacent areas
- Prepares fruit garnishes and assists in mixing bulk alcohol recipes for volume sales such as Sangria and Spiced Cider
- Assists bartenders in greeting guests, taking drink orders, and serving beverages as directed
- Monitors and maintains equipment functionality and stock levels, coordinating with inventory control and management for replenishment
- Notifies supervisor of any problems including guests who appear intoxicated or underage
- Performs other duties to support efficient department operations
