Job Description

Aramark is a global leader in food and facilities management, proudly serving millions of guests each day across 15 countries. With a mission rooted in service and united by purpose, Aramark strives to make a meaningful impact on its employees, partners, communities, and the planet. The company fosters an inclusive work environment where equal employment opportunity is a priority, ensuring that no discrimination occurs based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, or any other protected characteristics. Aramark’s commitment to its employees extends beyond just providing jobs; it focuses on talent development, passion fueling, and empowering professional growth. This dedication to employee success ensures that individuals find a sense of belonging and career satisfaction, whether they seek new challenges, a supportive workplace, or personal advancement.

The Barback position at Aramark plays a critical supporting role in the day-to-day operations of the bar and beverage service areas. This role is essential for maintaining an efficient and organized environment that enables bartenders and other staff members to deliver excellent guest service. The Barback is responsible for managing the inventory, stocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the bar area. Key responsibilities include assisting with opening and closing duties by restocking garnishes, straws, napkins, and ensuring bartenders are supplied with clean towels and glassware. This position also involves delivering product, using transfer sheets to keep accurate inventory records, and performing routine cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the workspace to uphold high standards of safety and presentation.

Furthermore, the Barback ensures the bar remains well-stocked with ice, liquor, beer, and wine, regularly checks taps and appliances for proper function, and replaces kegs as needed. Maintaining a clean bar environment extends to wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, removing dirty glassware promptly, and emptying trash receptacles to prevent clutter and support smooth service. A vital aspect of this role is providing consistent, positive guest interactions and teamwork support, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for guests, customers, and colleagues alike. Adherence to Aramark’s stringent safety policies, particularly those concerning food safety and sanitation, safeguards both employees and patrons. The Barback role often requires standing and walking for extended periods and physical activities such as lifting and carrying stock items. Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, is necessary to meet the dynamic demands of the hospitality and food service industry. Aramark encourages employees to adapt and develop new skills continuously, understanding that job responsibilities may evolve depending on the location and specific business needs.
