The Bar Back role at Levy is essential for ensuring smooth bar operations during events at Lumen Field. This hourly position offers competitive pay, ranging from $23.60 to $25.60 per hour, with attractive perks such as Instapay (early access to wages) and high-interest savings through the EVEN app. As a Bar Back, you will work closely with bartenders to maintain an efficient and clean bar environment, help with setup and breakdown of stations, and support guest satisfaction by attending to needs like emptying plates and glassware and maintaining a tidy workspace. This position demands physical stamina, agility, and a strong sense of urgency, as it often requires long hours on your feet and active engagement with guests.
In addition to the operational aspects, Bar Backs are expected to have a good understanding of the menu offerings, including packaging and pricing, to assist guests effectively. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- must have and maintain a valid Washington State Food Handlers Permit and a Washington State Class 12 MAST Permit
- ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- physical stamina to engage actively with guests
- ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
- ability to react with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- must have and maintain a valid Washington State Food Handlers Permit and a Washington State Class 12 MAST Permit
- ability to stand and move for extended periods
- knowledge of safety and sanitation practices
- good communication skills
- previous hospitality or food service experience preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Performs important guest service functions including emptying plates and glassware, wiping down the bar, and setting up for dining at the bar
- thoroughly completes all station set-up and breakdown responsibilities
- completes steps of service to ensure utmost guest satisfaction
- responsible for running product from the pantry/kitchen to the bar for use during the event
- understands and can describe menu offerings, packaging/presentation, and pricing
- responds to guest needs and requests
- adheres to location appearance guidelines
- acts with a sense of urgency and provides friendly, efficient service to teammates and guests
- maintains service areas
- adheres to Levy guidelines as stated in team member training manual and employee handbook
- communicates guest issues to management
- follows responsible alcohol service policies
- follows cash handling and tip reporting guidelines
- employs good safety and sanitation practices
- practices proper product control and handling of all inventory and equipment
