Job Description

Asia Live Silicon Valley is a premier culinary and cultural destination located at the entrance to Westfield Valley Fair Mall in Santa Clara, California. Founded by Chef George Chen and created by the renowned team behind Asia Live, this establishment is an immersive hospitality experience that elegantly celebrates the depth, diversity, and artistry of Asian cuisine. Spanning 12,000 square feet across Level 1 and Level 2, Asia Live combines exceptional dining, vibrant energy, and cultural storytelling in one of Silicon Valley's most prominent retail and lifestyle destinations. The venue offers patrons not just a meal but an exploration of authentic and modern Asian flavors, designed to cater to a diverse audience seeking high-quality food and an engaging environment. The restaurant's design incorporates an open kitchen concept, allowing guests to witness the culinary artistry and passion that goes into each dish, creating a dynamic dining experience enhanced by transparency and interaction.

The position of barback at Asia Live Silicon Valley is crucial to maintaining the high standard of service the establishment is known for. As a barback, you assist bartenders to ensure that guests receive the highest quality bar and dining experience possible. This role involves maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar space, preparing garnishes and ingredients, and supporting bartenders to facilitate smooth and timely beverage service. The barback is the backbone of the bar team, ensuring all operational needs are met behind the scenes to keep service flowing efficiently. This includes setting up and closing the bar properly, upholding cleanliness standards, and adhering to health and sanitation regulations. The role requires a proactive approach to managing supplies and bar equipment while coordinating with the broader restaurant team to uphold guest satisfaction and company standards.

Asia Live Silicon Valley emphasizes professional demeanor, polished grooming, and excellent communication skills. Candidates should be able to engage guests politely and support management and kitchen staff as necessary. The role demands physical stamina, the ability to stand for extended periods, and the ability to handle up to 40 pounds, reflecting the fast-paced and hands-on nature of the work environment. Shifts may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays, offering flexibility in scheduling to suit different availability. Asia Live values diversity and offers equal employment opportunities without discrimination.

The barback position is available both full-time and part-time, with competitive pay ranging from $19.00 to $23.00 per hour. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, contributing to the overall well-being of employees. No formal education is required for this role, but food handler and TIPS/RBS certifications are mandatory, alongside a preference for candidates with at least one year of experience in a similar position. The work environment is lively with moderate to loud noise levels, reflecting a vibrant hospitality setting where teamwork and guest service excellence are paramount. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to grow their hospitality careers within a unique and dynamic culinary establishment in Silicon Valley.
