Established as one of the fastest growing companies in Baltimore, Atlas Restaurant Group is committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences through a combination of innovative culinary concepts and outstanding service. The group is deeply rooted in the community, emphasizing a workplace culture that values teamwork, leadership, and career development. Employees frequently have direct interaction with ownership and senior management, fostering an inclusive environment where individual growth and professional advancement are actively encouraged.
The position of Bar Assistant at Atlas Restaurant Group is a crucial role designed to support the bartending team and ensure smooth bar operations. The Bar Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that help maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the bar area. This includes restocking essential items such as garnishes, napkins, straws, glassware, and beverages like liquor, wine, and beer. The assistant will also participate in cleaning duties like wiping down surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash, as well as some minor maintenance tasks such as checking taps and changing kegs when necessary.
This role requires a candidate who is knowledgeable about menu items and cocktail recipes, able to quickly learn and assist with navigating the Point of Sale (POS) system. The Bar Assistant must be highly attentive and focused on providing quality service in a fast-paced environment. With the role involving physical activity such as standing for long periods, walking, bending, and lifting moderately heavy objects, physical stamina and an eye for detail are essential. Additionally, this role demands strong interpersonal skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to remain composed under pressure. The Bar Assistant works closely alongside bartenders and other staff to ensure that customers receive prompt and courteous service, contributing directly to the overall customer experience.
Employment for this role can be full-time or part-time, with compensation varying by location and including hourly wages plus tips in many states. For example, pay ranges from $3.63 to $7.00 per hour plus tips in Maryland to $13.25 to $14.00 per hour in Delaware. Full-time employees working over 30 hours enjoy a comprehensive benefits package which includes health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k contributions, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, learning and development programs, and mobility and advancement opportunities. Additionally, staff receive benefits such as pet insurance and discounts at Atlas properties. Part-time employees are also eligible for several benefits, including a 401k contribution and life insurance.
Joining Atlas Restaurant Group as a Bar Assistant offers more than a typical job. It is a chance to become part of a growing, dynamic team with access to ongoing professional development and advancement. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in the hospitality industry and who thrive in energetic, customer-focused settings.
