The role of Bar Back at Soboba Casino Resort is an essential position within the casino’s beverage service team. A Bar Back assists bartenders and servers by maintaining the bar area, ensuring cleanliness, organizing supplies, and supporting the timely and efficient service of drinks to guests. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work under the structured standards set forth by the casino and the Health Department. Bar Backs play a critical part in delivering excellent customer service by preparing sodas, maintaining garnishes, polishing glassware, and stepping in to pour drinks when necessary. This position is vital for the smooth operation and upkeep of the bar service areas.
Bar Backs must adhere to TIPs (Training for Intervention Procedures) to ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with regulations. The candidate for this position must demonstrate positive communication skills, both internally with colleagues and externally with guests, to foster a hospitable and efficient working environment. This role requires completion of set-up and closing duties, participation in weekly deep cleaning schedules, and the ability to assist other team members such as bar porters. Bar Backs are expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout their shifts.

Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Any combination of education, experience, and training providing required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Must provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Soboba Tribal Gaming Commission license
- Ability to obtain and maintain TIPs certification
- Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing

Job Duties
- Apply positive communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with guests (internal and external) at all times
- Complete all set-up and closing duties in timely fashion
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar area and equipment according to Soboba Casino and Health Department standards including cleaning floors, drains, mats, and fridge
- Perform weekly deep cleaning and deep cleaning of bar mats when closing
- Remove refuge from bar area as required
- Assist bar porters with rotating and putting product away in bars when asked
- Maintain a clean bar and service bar throughout the shift
- Keep glassware washed, polished, and put away
- Pour drinks and serve guests when assistance is required or requested
- Prepare sodas for servers and assist when needed
- Replace garnishes as needed
- Assist bartender/server with assigned duties as requested
- Perform other duties as assigned
