The Bar Back position at Dave and Buster's is an essential role within the bar team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations behind the scenes. As a Bar Back, you will be instrumental in supporting the bartenders, allowing them to focus on creating excellent drink service and enhancing the guest experience. Your responsibilities will include restocking supplies, preparing garnishes, managing ice bins, and maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area while responding swiftly to the needs of bartenders and guests. Job Requirements

must be at least the minimum age required to serve or handle alcohol according to local laws
able to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds
able to stand or walk throughout the entire shift
available to work various shifts including days, nights, and weekends
able to maintain a friendly demeanor during busy times
effective communication skills
able to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment
ability to perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, stooping, lifting, and wiping surfaces
able to understand and communicate instructions clearly

Job Qualifications

high school diploma or equivalent
prior experience in a bar or restaurant setting preferred but not required
strong communication skills
ability to work in a fast-paced environment
ability to follow instructions and work well in a team
basic knowledge of bar operations preferred
friendly and approachable demeanor
reliable and punctual
ability to stand and move for extended periods

Job Duties

plays a crucial role in delivering top-notch drink service that complements food and games, contributes to an atmosphere of fun for guests
keeps the bartender and immediate supervisor informed about low stock, spills, or equipment issues, taking immediate action or suggesting solutions
provides efficient support by restocking bar supplies, preparing garnishes, and ensuring ice bins are full to minimize guest wait times
maintains a positive and helpful attitude while assisting bartenders and anticipating their needs during busy periods
assists with guest requests by relaying information to the bartender and keeping the bar area clean and organized
supports the bartender by retrieving ingredients, glassware, and other necessary items quickly and efficiently
ensures empty glasses are collected and the bar area is tidy throughout service
alerts the bartender or manager to any guest issues or concerns observed at the bar
adheres to all company policies and procedures on responsible alcohol service and safety
stocks and organizes all bar-related supplies, including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, and garnishes
assists with inventory counts of bar stock as required
checks for and replenishes all necessary bar supplies before, during, and after service, reporting shortages to the manager
maintains cleanliness and organization of counters, shelves, refrigerators, and storage spaces in the bar area
assists other team members to ensure smooth overall operations
maintains positive working relationships with all team members to foster a supportive and productive environment
meets minimum age requirement for serving or handling alcohol as per local regulations
