The role of Bar Assistant at Dave & Buster's is a crucial part of maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of the bar area. This position supports bartenders by handling necessary behind-the-scenes tasks that allow bartenders to focus on creating outstanding drink service and engaging guest interactions. The Bar Assistant is responsible for ensuring the bar is well-stocked, clean, and organized, contributing to a fun and exciting atmosphere for guests to enjoy. This job requires an individual who is approachable, attentive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and communication are key. From replenishing supplies and preparing garnishes to assisting with inventory counts and addressing guest inquiries, the Bar Assistant plays an essential role in delivering a seamless bar experience.

Individuals in this role must be able to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds, stand for extended periods, and handle physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and wiping surfaces. Flexibility in working shifts—including days, evenings, and weekends—is also important to meet the operational needs of the bar. The position demands a focus on compliance with safety regulations and responsible alcohol service policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for guests and staff alike. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

high school diploma or equivalent
previous experience in a bar or food service environment preferred
ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests
strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
basic knowledge of responsible alcohol service and safety protocols
physical capability to perform tasks requiring lifting, standing, and bending for extended periods
positive attitude and excellent customer service orientation

Job Duties

plays a key part in delivering excellent drink service that complements our food and entertainment, contributing to a fun and exciting atmosphere for our guests
keeps the bartender and immediate supervisor informed about any low stock levels, spills, or equipment malfunctions, taking immediate action or suggesting solutions
provides efficient assistance by promptly replenishing bar supplies, preparing garnishes, and ensuring ice levels are maintained, helping to minimize guest wait times
maintains a positive and helpful attitude while supporting the bartenders and anticipating their needs during busy periods
assists with guest inquiries by relaying information to the bartender and ensuring the bar area is clean and well-organized for a positive guest experience
supports the bartender by quickly and efficiently retrieving ingredients, glassware, and other necessary items
ensures that empty glassware is collected and the bar area remains tidy throughout service
informs the bartender or manager of any guest issues or concerns observed at the bar
adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding responsible alcohol service and safety regulations
responsible for stocking and organizing all bar-related supplies, including liquor, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, and garnishes, in designated storage locations
assists with periodic inventory counts of bar stock as needed
checks and replenishes all necessary bar supplies before, during, and after service
reports any shortages to the manager
maintains the cleanliness and organization of the entire bar area, including counters, shelves, refrigerators, and storage areas
provides assistance to other team members as needed to ensure efficient overall operations
maintains positive working relationships with all Dave & Buster's team members to foster a supportive and productive work environment
must meet the minimum legal age requirement for serving or handling alcoholic beverages as per local regulations
