The Bar Assistant role is a critical support position within Dave & Buster's bar team, essential for the smooth operation of the bar area. This position involves assisting bartenders by replenishing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the bar is fully stocked and organized before, during, and after service. The Bar Assistant helps create a positive environment for guests by enabling bartenders to focus on delivering outstanding drink service without distractions. Job Requirements
- be approachable and able to maintain a friendly and courteous manner, even during peak hours
- be available to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, and/or weekends, as required
- thrive in a lively, fast-paced environment with a moderate to high noise level
- be able to understand and effectively communicate instructions and information
- be able to lift and carry items such as beverage cases, ice containers, and bus tubs, weighing up to 30 pounds
- move efficiently within the bar area and stand for extended periods of time
- be able to walk or stand for the entire duration of their scheduled shift
- frequently reach, bend, stoop, lift, and wipe down surfaces to maintain a clean and well-stocked bar
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- basic knowledge of bar operations and beverage handling
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- positive attitude and ability to anticipate needs
- minimum legal age requirement for serving or handling alcoholic beverages as per local regulations
Job Duties
- plays a key part in delivering excellent drink service that complements our food and entertainment, contributing to a fun and exciting atmosphere for our guests
- keeps the bartender and immediate supervisor informed about any low stock levels, spills, or equipment malfunctions, taking immediate action or suggesting solutions
- provides efficient assistance by promptly replenishing bar supplies, preparing garnishes, and ensuring ice levels are maintained, helping to minimize guest wait times
- maintains a positive and helpful attitude while supporting the bartenders and anticipating their needs during busy periods
- assists with guest inquiries by relaying information to the bartender and ensuring the bar area is clean and well-organized for a positive guest experience
- supports the bartender by quickly and efficiently retrieving ingredients, glassware, and other necessary items
- ensures that empty glassware is collected and the bar area remains tidy throughout service
