The Bar Assistant plays a crucial role within this engaging environment, assisting bartenders to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the bar area. Job Requirements
- meet minimum legal age requirement for serving or handling alcoholic beverages as per local regulations
- be approachable and able to maintain a friendly and courteous manner even during peak hours
- be available to work flexible shifts including days evenings and weekends as required
- thrive in a lively fast-paced environment with moderate to high noise level
- be able to understand and effectively communicate instructions and information
- be able to lift and carry items such as beverage cases ice containers and bus tubs weighing up to 30 pounds
- move efficiently within the bar area and stand for extended periods of time
- be able to walk or stand for the entire duration of their scheduled shift
- frequently reach bend stoop lift and wipe down surfaces to maintain a clean and well-stocked bar
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous experience in a food and beverage or bar environment is beneficial
- good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- ability to maintain a friendly and courteous manner under pressure
- knowledge of responsible alcohol service and safety regulations is an asset
- ability to work flexible shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
- ability to understand and effectively communicate instructions and information
Job Duties
- play a key part in delivering excellent drink service that complements food and entertainment contributing to a fun and exciting atmosphere for guests
- keep bartender and immediate supervisor informed about low stock levels spills or equipment malfunctions taking immediate action or suggesting solutions
- provide efficient assistance by promptly replenishing bar supplies preparing garnishes and ensuring ice levels are maintained helping to minimize guest wait times
- maintain a positive and helpful attitude while supporting the bartenders and anticipating their needs during busy periods
- assist with guest inquiries by relaying information to the bartender and ensuring the bar area is clean and well-organized for a positive guest experience
- support the bartender by quickly and efficiently retrieving ingredients glassware and other necessary items
- ensure that empty glassware is collected and the bar area remains tidy throughout service
