The Bar Assistant position at Dave & Buster's plays a vital and supportive role in maintaining smooth bar operations. This role is essential for helping bartenders provide an exceptional drink service experience, ensuring guests receive their orders promptly and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. Bar Assistants are responsible for replenishing supplies, preparing garnishes, monitoring stock levels, and maintaining cleanliness and organization behind the bar. They act as dependable team players who anticipate the needs of bartenders during busy shifts to minimize wait times and enhance guest satisfaction. Additionally, the Bar Assistant interacts with guests by promptly addressing inquiries and relaying concerns to bartenders or management. Adherence to company policies on responsible alcohol service and safety standards is paramount for this role. The position requires physical stamina to manage various tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working efficiently in a fast-paced, noisy environment. Working flexible shifts including evenings and weekends is also an integral part of the role, aligning with the operational hours of the establishment. Job Requirements

Meet the minimum legal age requirement for serving or handling alcoholic beverages as per local regulations
Be approachable and maintain a friendly and courteous manner even during peak hours
Be available to work flexible shifts including days evenings and weekends as required
Thrive in a lively fast-paced environment with moderate to high noise level
Be able to understand and effectively communicate instructions and information
Be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds
Move efficiently within the bar area and stand for extended periods of time
Be able to walk or stand for the entire duration of scheduled shift
Frequently reach bend stoop lift and wipe down surfaces to maintain a clean and well-stocked bar

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in a bar or hospitality environment is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Basic knowledge of bar operations and drink service
Ability to follow safety and responsible alcohol service guidelines
Positive attitude and willingness to assist coworkers and guests

Job Duties

Plays a key part in delivering excellent drink service that complements food and entertainment contributing to a fun and exciting atmosphere for guests
Keeps the bartender and immediate supervisor informed about any low stock levels spills or equipment malfunctions taking immediate action or suggesting solutions
Provides efficient assistance by promptly replenishing bar supplies preparing garnishes and ensuring ice levels are maintained helping to minimize guest wait times
Maintains a positive and helpful attitude while supporting the bartenders and anticipating their needs during busy periods
Assists with guest inquiries by relaying information to the bartender and ensuring the bar area is clean and well-organized for a positive guest experience
Supports the bartender by quickly and efficiently retrieving ingredients glassware and other necessary items
Ensures that empty glassware is collected and the bar area remains tidy throughout service
