The Bar Assistant position at Dave & Buster's plays a crucial role in the overall bar operation, working alongside Bartenders to ensure an efficient and seamless guest experience. This position is typically part-time, requiring flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, and weekends. The Bar Assistant must be physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds, and moving efficiently throughout the bar area, all while maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor. The role also demands strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and address guest inquiries promptly.

Job Requirements
- be approachable and able to maintain a friendly and courteous manner even during peak hours
- be available to work flexible shifts including days evenings and/or weekends as required
- thrive in a lively fast-paced environment with a moderate to high noise level
- be able to understand and effectively communicate instructions and information
- be able to lift and carry items such as beverage cases ice containers and bus tubs weighing up to 30 pounds
- move efficiently within the bar area and stand for extended periods of time
- be able to walk or stand for the entire duration of their scheduled shift
- frequently reach bend stoop lift and wipe down surfaces to maintain a clean and well-stocked bar
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a fast-paced food and beverage environment preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work flexible shifts including evenings weekends and holidays
- knowledge of responsible alcohol service and safety regulations
- ability to work effectively as part of a team
- positive attitude and strong work ethic
Job Duties
- plays a key part in delivering excellent drink service that complements our food and entertainment contributing to a fun and exciting atmosphere for our guests
- keeps the bartender and immediate supervisor informed about any low stock levels spills or equipment malfunctions taking immediate action or suggesting solutions
- provides efficient assistance by promptly replenishing bar supplies preparing garnishes and ensuring ice levels are maintained helping to minimize guest wait times
- maintains a positive and helpful attitude while supporting the bartenders and anticipating their needs during busy periods
- assists with guest inquiries by relaying information to the bartender and ensuring the bar area is clean and well-organized for a positive guest experience
- supports the bartender by quickly and efficiently retrieving ingredients glassware and other necessary items
- ensures that empty glassware is collected and the bar area remains tidy throughout service
