Job Requirements

  • Some college or advanced food and beverage operations training
  • two years experience in banquets or food and beverage operations
  • one year supervisory experience
  • fluent English
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to move about function areas
  • ability to handle objects
  • ability to bend, stoop, and kneel
  • strong communication skills
  • reading and writing abilities
  • basic math and budgeting skills
  • problem-solving and reasoning abilities
  • alcohol awareness certification or valid food service permit or health/food handler card
  • availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Some college or advanced food and beverage operations training
  • minimum two years experience in banquets or food and beverage operations
  • at least one year supervisory experience
  • fluent in English

  • strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • experience coordinating with multiple departments and vendors
  • knowledge of food safety and alcohol awareness practices
  • ability to manage budgets and control labor costs

Job Duties

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of the banquet department
  • communicate objectives
  • schedule and assign work
  • communicate and enforce policies and procedures
  • recommend and initiate salary, disciplinary, or staffing actions in accordance with company policies
  • alert management of serious issues
  • ensure staff training and equipment availability
  • ensure banquet rooms are set-up according to guest expectations and banquet event orders
  • conduct pre-function meetings
  • inspect function areas for cleanliness and layout
  • meet with kitchen staff to review menus and coordinate delivery
  • coordinate AV and technical needs
  • greet guests and respond to requests and complaints professionally
  • implement service recovery guidelines
  • review guest checks with clients
  • maintain banquet inventory security and proper storage
  • replenish supplies efficiently
  • control labor and expenses
  • provide input for annual budget
  • ensure banquet equipment is prepared and maintained
  • ensure banquet facilities are clean and stocked
  • notify engineering of maintenance needs
  • promote teamwork through coordination with other departments
  • interact with guests, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other contacts
  • handle incoming and outgoing materials
  • serve as Manager on Duty as needed
  • assist banquet staff during peak periods
  • perform other duties as assigned
