The Banquet/Event Bartender role at the Harley-Davidson Museum offers an hourly pay rate of $20 plus tips. As the Banquet/Event Bartender, you will prepare and serve beverages in a courteous and timely manner while adhering to all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, maintaining well-stocked and visually appealing bars, and ensuring compliance with alcohol service laws including guest identification and intoxication monitoring. This role requires a flexible schedule to accommodate events, including working days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with an event-based schedule reflective of campus-wide activations.

The position demands professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. Essential duties include setting up bars with all necessary supplies, preparing garnishes, mixing drinks according to standardized recipes, handling cash transactions, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the bar area. Bartenders will also be tasked with checking guest identification, recognizing signs of intoxication, and acting accordingly per training. Safety and security are priorities, with requirements to lock up beverage inventory and cash securely. The role is open to candidates who can obtain a City of Milwaukee Bartending License. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to obtain a City of Milwaukee Bartending License
  • Open availability preferred
  • Able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Event based schedule that reflects campuswide activations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Basic math skills for cash handling

Job Duties

  • Adheres to state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • Sets up assigned bars
  • Requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce
  • Maintains stock, prepares, cures and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality
  • Greets guests in a courteous, friendly manner
  • Takes and/or processes orders for drinks
  • mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes
  • practices prudent portion control
  • Checks guests at the bar for proper identification
  • Detects and acts upon guest inebriation as trained
  • Demonstrates knowledge of liquor laws
  • Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies validity of charges, records charges and ensures vouchers are properly executed
  • Locks up and stores all beverage product, food, equipment items, deposits and cash drops
