The Banquet Supervisor role at Sodexo, located at Huntington Place, is an on-call part-time position offering a competitive pay rate of $25.00 per hour. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless execution of banquet and catered events, supervising staff and managing operations to meet and exceed client expectations. As a Banquet Supervisor, you will be the primary on-site leader overseeing the Banquet Captains and Servers during events. Your responsibilities will include ensuring adherence to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), upholding service standards, and maintaining operational readiness. The role involves coordinating events that range in size from small meetings to large-scale functions with various service styles including receptions, buffets, plated meals, and multi-course dinners. Beyond managing the staff, you will support the logistical aspects of events such as preparation, setup, service, breakdown, and cleanup. This position requires frequent physical activity, including lifting and moving items up to 35 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 2-4 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage service experience
- prior supervisory or leadership experience
- must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol based on local and state laws
- ability to frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- open availability for varying shifts
- willingness to work on-call part-time basis
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- minimum of 2-4 years of banquet, catering, or food and beverage service experience
- prior supervisory or leadership experience in banquet or event operations
- knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems and event service processes
- certification or training in alcohol management such as TIPS or TEAM
- food handler certification may be required based on location
Job Duties
- Monitor event setup, service execution, and breakdown to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency
