As part of Team Plano, employees are guided by the organizational values encapsulated in the acronym SERVE: Stewardship, Engaged, Respectful, Visionary, and Excellence. These core values shape the culture and operations of the city, ensuring that services are delivered with integrity, professionalism, and a focus on community well-being.
The Banquet Supervisor position at the Plano Event Center offers a unique opportunity to join a leading venue known for hosting memorable and high-quality events. This role is pivotal in ensuring that each event exceeds guest expectations through meticulous planning, team leadership, and adherence to service standards. As a Banquet Supervisor, you will oversee the banquet staff, coordinate event logistics, and manage resources to uphold the center's reputation for excellence. This hands-on leadership role requires a service-driven mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-oriented environment. You will be responsible for scheduling, training, and evaluating staff performance while managing labor and supply costs effectively within budget constraints.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Banquet Supervisor plays an integral role in the Alcoholic Beverage Service program. This includes assisting with product selection, ordering, and staff training, including Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) certification. You will ensure that all legal requirements and service standards related to alcohol are consistently met, safeguarding the venue's compliance and the safety of its guests.
This full-time position comes with a competitive benefits package that reflects the City of Plano’s commitment to employee well-being and professional development. Employees enjoy a uniform allowance, coverage of certification costs for TABC and ServeSafe Manager, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, and membership in the Texas Municipal Retirement System with a favorable city match on contributions. Additional benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, various paid holidays, tuition assistance, free library card, and recreation center membership. The Banquet Supervisor position offers a stable career opportunity with a respected municipal employer known for its inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
Joining Team Plano as a Banquet Supervisor means taking on a role that blends leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences. The position demands a professional who is organized, communicative, and committed to maintaining the highest service quality standards. You will collaborate closely with the Food Sales and Service Supervisor and the Executive Chef to continuously enhance service delivery and develop new programs that meet evolving client needs. This role also requires a strong focus on safety, sanitation, and compliance with all relevant health and regulatory guidelines.
If you have a background in food and beverage management, particularly in banquet or full-service restaurant settings, and possess the leadership skills necessary to manage and inspire a diverse team, this career opportunity at the City of Plano could be your next step. By contributing your talents and leadership to the Plano Event Center, you will help create unforgettable event experiences that reflect the community’s commitment to excellence and service.
