The organization emphasizes a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement to maintain its position as a leader in the hospitality sector. It invests in its staff's professional growth and upholds comprehensive policies that support both employee and guest satisfaction.
The role available is that of a Banquet Supervisor, a highly visible and pivotal supervisory position within the event management team. This full-time role involves assisting the Banquet Manager with the successful ownership and operational execution of banquet and meeting functions. Serving as an unofficial assistant manager on an hourly-paid basis, the Banquet Supervisor is entrusted with significant responsibility from the initial planning and preparation stages through to execution, teardown, and post-event procedures. This role requires a hands-on leader who can take complete ownership of events, ensuring operational excellence and adherence to all hotel and departmental standards.
The Banquet Supervisor is a steward of departmental and hotel policies, tasked with enforcing compliance and contributing to the development of additional standards and procedures. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and secure, confidential record-keeping are integral functions of this role. Communication is also critical, with responsibilities including promoting effective internal communication channels and ensuring accurate information flow related to event orders and staffing.
Operationally, the supervisor is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of forecasting, scheduling, payroll procedures, and financial systems related to banquet operations. They must also be proficient in event logistics, equipment maintenance, pricing knowledge, and preparation of consumption forms for accurate billing. The position involves active participation in meetings and maintaining up-to-date event documentation like Banquet Event Order (BEO) packets and daily communications.
In addition, the Banquet Supervisor plays a key role in staff management by delegating duties, providing coaching, and fostering an environment that supports high performance and continuous development. Keeping abreast of current industry trends to offer the latest products and services is also a vital aspect of the job. This role demands a candidate who is personable, organized, and skilled in both leadership and administrative functions, with previous banquet experience preferably in a four-diamond or equivalent venue.
Overall, the Banquet Supervisor position offers a unique opportunity to grow within a professional hospitality environment, with full-time benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, an employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plans, vacation and paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and complimentary or discounted accommodations. This ensures a supportive work environment that values employee well-being and career advancement.
