The position of Specialty Steward is an essential role within the food and beverage operations at MGM Resorts. Job Requirements

  • 18+ years of age
  • 6+ months of prior relevant experience stewarding preferred
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • physical ability to handle cleaning duties and operate equipment
  • willingness to comply with health and safety trainings and regulations

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6+ months of prior relevant experience in stewarding preferred
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • ability to operate cleaning equipment
  • understanding of safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to follow directions and work independently
  • strong attention to detail
  • good communication skills

Job Duties

  • maintain chemical detergents
  • scrape, wash, rinse, sanitize, and air dry pots and pans then place them back to the appropriate storage location as needed
  • wash baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables and cutting boards
  • sweep and mop all floors
  • wash all floor mats
  • clean kitchen equipment including dish machines, ice machines, pot machines, prep tables, hot boxes, refrigerators, etc.
  • separate and remove trash, garbage, ash, and grease
  • place waste in designated containers
  • handle biohazard clean up
  • maintain inventories and restock kitchen supplies
  • polish equipment as needed
  • comply with regulatory departments and departmental policies including SNHD, OSHA, Fire Department
  • operate large electronic or gas operated equipment such as ride-on floor scrubber, pallet jack, forklift, truck, power washers
  • complete mandatory trainings including health and safety as required by company or governing bodies
  • report equipment concerns to direct supervisor
