Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of kitchen management experience in a high-volume environment
  • Relevant culinary education or equivalent professional experience
  • Serve Safe Certification preferred
  • Compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations
  • Ability to lead and supervise kitchen staff effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Pass background check

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of high volume kitchen management experience
  • Prior catering or banquet experience preferred
  • Culinary degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experience with employee coaching, counseling, and documentation
  • Knowledge of documenting and enforcing food safety and workplace safety procedures
  • Serve Safe Certification preferred
  • Allergy Awareness Training preferred
  • Strong culinary skills proficient in various cooking methods
  • Ability to perform food cost analysis and minimize waste
  • Thorough understanding of kitchen equipment operation
  • Financial acumen regarding food costs

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop innovative and seasonal menus
  • Contribute to menu planning and recipe development including creating and testing new dishes and specials
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking activities ensuring recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards are met
  • Supervise and assist kitchen staff in various culinary tasks ensuring consistency and excellence
  • Coordinate and manage kitchen operations including ordering, inventory management, production scheduling, and equipment maintenance
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment complying with health and safety regulations
  • Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff providing guidance and coaching to improve skills and team performance
