Job Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • EcoSure Managers Certification
  • City of Chicago Managers Certification
  • previous leadership experience in a culinary or banquet kitchen environment
  • proven ability to manage and motivate a team
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • commitment to maintaining high culinary and safety standards
  • flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • previous experience in a Unionized kitchen environment is preferred

  • proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders
  • ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • strong interpersonal and problem solving skills

  • previous experience with a Union environment is an asset

Job Duties

  • Support the Executive Chef in leading the daily operations of the banquet kitchens
  • consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
  • lead and supervise the quality of the food offered, as well as coordinate production
  • actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
  • maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage and ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate
  • ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • follow and enforce all kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
  • follow and enforce all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • create unforgettable culinary experiences for our guests
