The role of Banquet Sous Chef is a critical position within Boyd Gaming’s culinary operations. This role involves supporting the Executive Chef by managing and overseeing the preparation, presentation, and service of food during banquet events. As a Banquet Sous Chef, you will play an essential role in maintaining the highest quality standards for food, ensuring consistency in taste and appearance, and minimizing waste through effective food rotation and inventory management. Your leadership skills will be tested as you coordinate with kitchen staff, delegate responsibilities, and maintain an organized and sanitary work environment complying with health and safety regulations.

You will also be responsible for staffing management, including handling early out requests and scheduling overtime to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Monitoring food quantities and quality is a critical part of your daily duties to uphold Boyd Gaming’s commitment to excellence. This position requires physical endurance, as it involves standing and walking for most of the shift and handling items up to 40 pounds regularly. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in banquet or culinary operations
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift
  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds
  • Physical capability to perform bending, reaching, and kneeling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses and certifications
