Specifically, the Banquet Setup Attendant role at The Essex Resort & Spa is essential in orchestrating seamless banquet events. This position involves preparing and breaking down banquet rooms according to detailed diagrams, including draping tables, arranging chairs, setting up audiovisual equipment, and ensuring cleanliness throughout the event space. The role demands a high level of organization and efficiency, as well as a genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. Attendants contribute to creating extraordinary gatherings by ensuring environments are immaculate, well-stocked, and safely maintained.

As a Banquet Setup Attendant, you will be responsible for the physical setup and breakdown of banquet events, which includes handling linens, trash removal, vacuuming, and equipment storage. The job also involves inventory management, maintaining storerooms, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Interacting courteously with guests is a key part of the role, as is promptly reporting any hazardous conditions or equipment issues to management. The position requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to work as part of a team maintaining clear communication and operational excellence.

  • Ability to follow detailed setup diagrams
  • Must maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
  • Ability to report hazards and equipment issues promptly

Job Duties

  • Responsible for set up and break down of banquet rooms
  • Set up for functions based on diagrams to include draping tables, setting tables and chairs, setting up AV, cleaning rooms
  • Break down to include removing dirty linens, removing trash and recycling, vacuuming, breaking down tables and storing in appropriate spaces
  • Responsibilities also include cleaning and organizing storerooms
  • Managing inventory of equipment
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary environment
  • Greets all guests in a courteous manner, displaying a helpful attitude
