The Banquet House-person role is an essential position within the hospitality industry, specifically situated in a hotel environment that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Job Requirements
- Ability to speak and understand English
- ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- adherence to safety policies, procedures and guidelines
- ability to handle, carry, push or lift items weighing up to 100 pounds
- ability to be active for long periods of time including standing, walking, bending, pulling and pushing
- open availability for variable schedule including weekdays, weeknights, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware
- knowledge of various types of equipment and setup styles used in meeting rooms such as round and classroom table arrangements
Job Duties
- Properly set, clean and maintain all function rooms, service corridors, storerooms and public function areas in a safe, accident-free manner
- manually set up, break down, and service all meeting rooms in accordance with hotel standards
- keep storage rooms maintained and organized
- maintain back hall by breaking down dirty dishes and bringing them to dish room
- pick up linen and put away
- set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest involving physical activity transporting heavy equipment
- break down all meeting rooms after meetings and return equipment to storage
- maintain cleaning schedule to keep rooms presentable
- supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water
- communicate with supervisor throughout shift about work status
- perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
- assist other Banquet Personnel as needed and help as a restaurant server
