In the role of Food & Beverage / Banquet Server, the chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering warm, professional, and attentive service within the resort's restaurants, bars, lounges, and banquet/event spaces. This versatile position requires a combination of traditional restaurant dining service and banquet function support. Responsibilities include accurate order taking, skilled food and beverage presentation, suggestive upselling, meticulous table and room setup and breakdown, payment processing, and maintaining immaculate cleanliness and presentation standards. This role not only demands attention to guest satisfaction but also aims to maximize revenue opportunities and uphold the high luxury hospitality standards of the brand in a fast-paced, upscale environment. The role is essential in creating memorable guest experiences, ensuring smooth operations and coordination between kitchen, banquet, and front-of-house teams, and maintaining full knowledge of food, beverage offerings, and local regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a server in a full-service, upscale restaurant, luxury hotel, or resort
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CARE (Cayman Alcohol Responsible Education) certification or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and premium drinks
  • Proficiency with Micros POS or similar systems
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Good communication and guest interaction skills
  • Knowledge of fine-dining and banquet service standards
  • Physical ability to stand and walk extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a server in a full-service, upscale restaurant, luxury hotel, or resort (banquet/event service experience strongly preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Hospitality diploma/degree or formal training preferred
  • CARE (Cayman Alcohol Responsible Education) certification required (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire)
  • Strong working knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and premium drink offerings
  • Proven proficiency with Micros POS (or similar restaurant point-of-sale systems) for order entry, check management, and reporting
  • Excellent command of the English language (spoken, written, reading, and comprehension)
  • Outstanding communication, guest-interaction, and professional demeanor
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware, fine-dining etiquette, and banquet presentation standards
  • Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods, carry trays/heavy items, and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Fully flexible availability including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required

Job Duties

  • Warmly welcome and acknowledge all guests in line with Westin brand standards
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders and serve meals/drinks promptly using proper serving techniques
  • Actively apply suggestive selling and up-selling techniques to promote house specialties, daily features, premium beverages, and event enhancements
  • Describe menu items, preparation methods, ingredients, prices, and beverage offerings confidently and accurately
  • Set up and break down banquet rooms/functions including tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, silverware, and décor per event orders and luxury resort standards
  • Ensure proper table settings, service ware, and overall presentation meet fine-dining and banquet expectations
  • Check guest identification, observe Cayman Islands liquor laws, and refuse service to minors or visibly intoxicated persons when required (CARE certification mandatory)
  • Process guest checks/payments accurately using Micros POS system and secure proper payment
  • Clear tables, maintain cleanliness and organization of dining rooms, banquet areas, service stations, and equipment
  • Perform side work, station set-up/tear-down, and general cleaning tasks using approved products while adhering to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen, banquet, and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service during regular dining and high-volume events
  • Maintain full knowledge of hotel food & beverage operations, food/alcohol offerings, and local regulations
