Job Requirements
- High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency
- must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy with prior driving experience upon employment
- must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays to accommodate Catering schedule

- ability to effectively communicate with various clients and colleagues
- advanced knowledge of food safety
- ability to work in a fast-paced stressful environment
- knowledge of basic math and computer skills
- knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
- knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware
- knowledge of food service/banquet operations
- ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items
Job Duties
- Greet and welcome guests, assist with seating and food service, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
- serve food and/or beverage to guests efficiently, ensuring proper timing and presentation
- assist with the set-up, service and breakdown of all assigned banquet functions
- maintain cleanliness and organization of serving areas, equipment and tables, sometimes multiple events in a day
- arrange and replenish buffet lines, drink stations or passed appetizers as needed
- replenish and clean up guests' plates and glasses as needed and clear plates between courses
- serve the food and/or beverage listed on the Banquet Event Order to the standards of the department and expectations of the client, in a manner that ensures consistency in all banquet/catered functions
- adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards
- ensure compliance with local health regulations, including handling food with care and monitoring serving temperatures
- assist with client complaints and escalate to leadership if needed
- work to ensure overall guest satisfaction
- additional duties as assigned
