Hotel Celare offers guests and visitors a modern and energetic atmosphere, complete with beautifully designed hotel spaces such as dynamic lobbies, sunlit event areas, and a wraparound terrace ideal for social and corporate gatherings. The hotel features unique culinary outlets including The Vick Rooftop Bar and Iris Café, where guests can enjoy a refined dining experience. The Banquet Server position at Hotel Celare is vital to delivering exceptional guest experiences during events and banquets. This role requires a flexible schedule that includes working varied shifts on weekends and holidays to accommodate the business needs. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for greeting guests warmly, assisting them in seating, taking and serving both food and beverage orders according to hotel standards, and employing suggestive selling techniques when appropriate.

In addition to food and beverage service, the Banquet Server anticipates guest needs, responds promptly, and maintains positive guest relations throughout the service experience. Familiarity with hotel amenities and local attractions is important for responding to guest inquiries accurately, enhancing the overall guest satisfaction. You will ensure food and beverage safety and quality aligned with both Shaner and franchise guidelines. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of your work area and the entire service station is also a critical part of this position.

This role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will handle guest complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction. Your duties will also include assisting with set-up and breakdown of event spaces. Previous experience in banquet operations or hospitality is preferred, along with food safety and alcohol awareness training such as ServSafe and TIPS. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are considered a plus, allowing better service to a diverse clientele.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in banquet operations or hospitality preferred
  • minimum legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • completion of ServSafe or equivalent food safety training
  • completion of alcohol awareness training such as TIPS
  • ability to communicate effectively with guests management and co-workers
  • capability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to perform job duties including standing and carrying trays
  • familiarity with hotel services and local attractions

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts as required to meet the needs of the companys business operations
  • maintain food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel shaner and franchise specifications
  • greet guests as they arrive and assist them with seating at tables
  • take and retrieve guests alcoholic beverage orders utilizing suggestive selling techniques when specified on function requirements
  • serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverage items to the guest in accordance with departmental standards and function requirements
  • anticipate guests needs respond promptly and acknowledge all guests always maintain positive guest relations
  • be familiar with all hotel services features and local attractions activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • handle guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
  • monitor and maintain cleanliness sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas
  • perform other duties as assigned
