Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of banquet service experience
  • must be 21 years or older
  • possession of Safe Server Alcohol & Food certification
  • ability to work in varying temperatures including extreme heat and cold
  • ability to stand and move for up to four hours
  • ability to lift up to 45 lbs
  • ability to push and pull carts up to 250 lbs
  • good communication and customer service skills
  • basic computer proficiency
  • adherence to grooming and attendance policies
  • ability to work varying schedules
  • ability to perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, and repetitive motions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of high-volume banquet service experience
  • hotel or resort banquet experience preferred
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food certification
  • must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol
  • good communication skills including verbal, written, and electronic
  • basic computer skills including knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS
  • detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills
  • ability to describe menu items and preparation methods
  • leadership capability and customer relations skills

Job Duties

  • Serve guests food and drinks during events as required
  • answer questions related to buffet or menu
  • bus and set tables including condiments as needed
  • assist with event room set-up including tablecloths, dishes, and silverware
  • check all china, glassware, silverware, and linen items needed for the event
  • be aware of upcoming groups and major conventions
  • read all assigned banquet menus and ask if specific items are unclear
  • ensure food is served at appropriate temperature and entrees are placed properly
  • handle all equipment properly including storage after use
  • participate in deep cleaning of the outlet
  • assist guests professionally and courteously with high-quality customer service
  • perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
