This part-time, hourly Banquet Server role, reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager or Banquet Captain, is based on-site at the Anchorage Convention Centers. The position demands a hands-on approach focused on delivering top-tier catering service to guests, seeking to maximize customer satisfaction and promote retention. The Banquet Server plays an integral role in supporting event execution by preparing banquet equipment, garnishes, and place settings, while ensuring that each event operates smoothly and efficiently. Working under the guidance of management, the server assists in adhering to company service standards and health regulations, contributing to an exceptional guest experience. The role requires flexibility with work hours, including weekends and holidays, and involves considerable physical activity such as walking, lifting up to 30 pounds, and carrying trays with multiple entree plates throughout the event. The work environment includes various indoor locations within the convention center and may sometimes require outdoor duties and off-premise assignments, like events involving the Alaska Railroad. The physical and mental demands of this job call for a server who is energetic, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and able to perform under pressure in busy, high-demand settings. Job Requirements
- Minimum of six months work experience in service-oriented environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal health department standards
- Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding alcohol service
- Must have an outgoing positive attitude in dealing with patrons and employees

Job Duties
- Reports for work in proper uniform according to the scheduled time
- Follows instructions for each event as given by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain
- Assists with collecting all banquet equipment including flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces for each event
- Assists with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads
- Assists with cleaning and filling salt and pepper containers, sugar dishes, creamers, etc.
- Assists with preparation and set-up of event room when necessary
- Prepares tables with place settings as instructed by the Food & Beverage Manager and/or Banquet Captain
- Attends pre-function meeting for briefing of event details
- Provides friendly and courteous customer service at all times
- Remains at assigned station and performs duties as assigned according to each event
- Reports any customer concerns and/or complaints to Banquet Captain
- Breaks down tables and banquet equipment after each event
- Cleans and returns serving pieces to proper storage area
- Adheres to strict grooming standards and company policies
- Follows service standards, procedures and guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary
