The role of Banquet Server at HHM Hotels is a critical position within the Food and Beverage department, designed to uphold the highest standards of banquet service. This role involves setting up banquet rooms and serving food and beverages in a manner that aligns with corporate policies, guest expectations, and sustainability protocols. As a Banquet Server, you are the face of HHM Hotels during events, playing an essential part in creating a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for guests. The position offers a clear career growth path, including opportunities to advance to Banquet Captain, Assistant Banquet Manager, and ultimately Banquet Manager, supporting long-term professional development within the hospitality industry.

As a Banquet Server, you will be expected to prepare banquet rooms exactly as instructed, attend roll call meetings to understand event specifics and guest expectations, and efficiently serve food and beverages following supervisors’ guidance to ensure consistency. A significant part of the role includes attending to guest needs by replenishing beverages, promptly clearing dishes, and addressing special requests or complaints to maintain high satisfaction levels. Compliance with all state, federal, and corporate laws, especially regarding the service of alcoholic beverages, is mandatory. Safety is also paramount; you will adhere to safe work practices, including the use of protective equipment and following OSHA and MSDS standards.

This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment requiring physical stamina. The scheduled work hours may vary and include holidays and weekends to support the dynamic needs of banquet events. Job Duties

  • Set up banquet room as instructed by supervisor
  • attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars including guest and hotel expectations
  • serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet
  • replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction
  • promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function
  • respond to guest special requests and resolve guest complaints
  • abide by all state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
