Known for its exceptional hospitality and luxurious accommodations, the Marriott is part of the renowned Marriott International portfolio, which operates globally with a commitment to providing outstanding service, comfort, and memorable guest experiences. Marriott International is celebrated for creating inclusive work environments that foster diversity, innovation, and professional growth. The Marina del Rey Marriott specifically caters to both leisure and business travelers, offering premium event spaces, dining experiences, and recreational facilities nestled in a beautiful coastal setting. The hotel emphasizes teamwork, personal development, and employee well-being, ensuring a dynamic yet supportive workplace. As a part-time, non-management position, this opportunity offers a competitive hourly wage of $17.81 and is an ideal role for individuals interested in the food and beverage industry, especially those passionate about banquet service and event hospitality. This position involves working onsite, interacting directly with guests from around the world, and being part of a dedicated team that strives to deliver impeccable event experiences.
The role entails preparing coffee breaks, stocking service carts and stations, setting up tables, action stations, buffets, and service carts to ensure optimal guest satisfaction. Candidates will communicate with kitchen staff regarding special requests or additional food requirements and maintain cleanliness by promptly clearing dishes and crumbs. Attention to the presentation of tableware is vital to allow guest access while ensuring hygiene standards for tables, service stations, and surrounding areas are strictly upheld. This job offers a rewarding experience working alongside a synchronized service team focused on excellence in event execution. Employees will gain a sense of accomplishment from delivering personalized attention that leaves a lasting impression on guests. This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and remain standing or walking for extended periods. Training and certification in safety will be provided prior to employment to ensure a secure work environment. Prospective candidates should possess positive energy, excellent conversational skills, and a strong orientation toward teamwork. Previous banquet service experience is highly desirable but not mandatory. The company fosters a culture of continuous learning and development, with opportunities for recognition, wellness programs, and career growth within the expansive Marriott network. By joining Marriott, employees become part of a global family dedicated to hospitality and guest satisfaction, enjoying benefits such as hotel discounts, gift shop savings, and food and beverage perks, all supported by motivated management and coworkers with team spirit. Marriott Hotels is committed to equal opportunity employment and inclusive workplace policies, celebrating the rich blend of cultures and talents of its associates. JW Marriott, a luxury collection under Marriott International, exemplifies this commitment, focusing on employee happiness as the cornerstone of guest experiences and fostering a vibrant community where colleagues thrive personally and professionally. Together, they deliver The JW Treatment™, embodying genuine, intuitive, and innovative hospitality that honors the legacy of the brand and its founder, J. Willard Marriott. Joining this team means doing your best work while pursuing your purpose and becoming the best version of yourself.
