Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in integrated food services and facilities management, dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people and communities it serves. Operating in numerous countries worldwide, Sodexo partners with organizations in various sectors, including education, healthcare, corporate, government, and energy, to deliver tailored solutions that enhance daily experiences. The company prides itself on its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a workplace culture where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves. Sodexo's comprehensive range of services spans from food service and catering to facilities management, all designed to create memorable experiences for both clients and customers alike.

This part-time Banquet Server role based at the University of Louisville offers an exciting opportunity to join Sodexo’s dynamic team. The position provides an hourly wage ranging from $13.78 to $18.61 and involves working in a flexible environment with varying shifts, requiring open availability. As a Banquet Server, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent food and beverage services to guests attending a variety of catered events, including meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and special functions. The role supports multiple service styles, from casual buffets to formal plated meals and passed service, requiring adaptability and a focus on professionalism.

Banquet Servers contribute significantly to the overall guest experience by providing attentive, timely, and high-quality service throughout events. Reporting to the Banquet Captain and Supervisor, servers are essential in setting up venues, executing service plans, and assisting in post-event breakdown. This position demands strong organizational skills, physical stamina—as it frequently requires lifting and moving items up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds—and a readiness to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards across service areas. The role also requires adhering to company policies including punctuality and attendance standards to ensure seamless event execution.

Joining Sodexo means becoming part of a company that values your contributions and offers a supportive work environment with opportunities for professional growth. Employees have access to ongoing training and development programs designed to help turn jobs into rewarding careers. The company offers a full range of benefits including paid time off, holidays, medical, dental, and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401k plans, and employee discount programs. Additionally, some locations provide benefits like free meals during shifts, uniforms, safety shoes, and support for transportation costs. Sodexo’s commitment to its people and communities reflects a purposeful philosophy that goes beyond work to impact lives positively in many ways, making this a fulfilling employment opportunity for those passionate about hospitality and service excellence.
