The role of Banquet Server at Sodexo is based at the Music Center (PACLAC) and offers both full-time and part-time positions, paying $30 per hour. This position involves providing exemplary food and beverage service during a variety of catered events, such as meetings, receptions, luncheons, dinners, and special functions. Banquet Servers at Sodexo support multiple service styles, from casual buffet settings to formal plated meals and passed servings. Working under the direction of the Banquet Captain and Banquet Supervisor, the Banquet Server's responsibilities include event setup, service execution, and cleanup, ensuring that guests receive attentive, professional, and timely service. This role demands excellent organizational skills to maintain cleanliness and service stations, the physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally, and the flexibility to work varying shifts with open availability preferred. Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
- Previous banquet, catering, food service, or hospitality experience preferred
- Must meet minimum age requirements to serve alcohol based on local and state regulations
- Must maintain a valid TIPS, TEAM, or equivalent alcohol-service certification
- Must comply with all state-specific alcohol training requirements
- Food handler certification may be required based on state or local regulations
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Provide food and beverage services to guests during catered events
- Support various service styles including casual buffets, formal plated meals, and passed service
- Participate in event setup, service execution, and breakdown under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and work areas during events
- Clear tables, reset place settings, and assist with presentation standards
- Frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Attend work on time with satisfactory regularity
- Perform other duties as assigned based on client requirements and business needs
