The Banquet Server position within the Food & Beverage department at the Fishers Event Center is a part-time, hourly role reporting directly to the Premium Services Manager. This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The Banquet Server plays an integral role in delivering an exceptional guest experience at various events by providing attentive and courteous service in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. The job requires individuals who are meticulous, personable, and capable of working effectively as part of a team. The role involves preparing banquet event spaces, setting up tables with appropriate place settings, assisting with garnishing and beverage preparation, ensuring buffet stations are clean and well-stocked, and utilizing POS systems to process guest transactions.

In addition to executing assigned duties, the Banquet Server is expected to uphold the highest standards of grooming and follow company service guidelines and policies. The ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and respond promptly to customer concerns or complaints is essential. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and maintain mobility throughout the event facility. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of six months' work experience in service-oriented environment
  • Possession of Indiana Liquor License
  • Knowledge of catering services and terminology
  • Strong guest service skills
  • Ability to get along well with others
  • Ability to receive and carry out instructions in a timely manner
  • Ability to multitask between guest transactions while maintaining cleanliness and food stock

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Reports for work in proper uniform according to the scheduled time
  • Follows instructions for each event as given by the Premium Services Manager and/or Supervisor
  • Assists with collecting all banquet equipment including flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event
  • Assists with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads
  • Assists with cleaning and filling buffet stations to maintain neat presentation
  • Assists with preparation and set-up of event room when necessary
  • Prepares tables with place settings as instructed
  • Utilizes POS systems to complete guest transactions
  • Attends pre-function meeting for briefing of event details
  • Provides friendly and courteous customer service
  • Remains at assigned station and perform duties as assigned according to each event
  • Reports any customer concerns and/or complaints to Premium Services Manager and/or Supervisor
  • Breaks down tables and banquet equipment after each event
  • Cleans and returns serving pieces to proper storage area
  • Adheres to strict grooming standards and company policies
  • Follows service standards, procedures and guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary
