Driven by a commitment to sustainability and cultural enrichment, the resort implements the Kahala Initiative for Sustainability Culture and Arts (KISCA) program and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The resort’s environment is built around a dedicated team, known as the Kahala Ohana, who deliver exceptional hospitality to ensure guests create treasured memories and have every reason to return.
The role available is for a Banquet Porter, a vital position responsible for supporting banquet and convention functions by setting up and breaking down meeting rooms, ensuring all banquet props and decorations meet high standards. This role plays an integral part in maintaining the excellent reputation for quality and service that Kahala Hotel & Resort upholds. The Banquet Porter is expected to precisely follow specifications for setup in meeting rooms, handle physical demands such as moving heavy equipment and furniture, and assist with replenishing buffet foods and managing audiovisual equipment. This position requires attention to detail, physical strength, and the capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation for this role ranges from $25.83 to $32.29 per hour, reflecting the importance of this role in facilitating smooth banquet operations. The position is on-call and non-exempt, offering flexibility with shifts to meet event demands within the resort. The Banquet Porter must also help maintain cleanliness across all banquet-related areas and adhere to safety regulations, assisting in emergency preparedness and guest safety instructions when requested.
This role is ideal for individuals with prior banquet porter or hospitality experience, who demonstrate strong organizational skills and are capable of multi-tasking under pressure. The position emphasizes teamwork, guest service, and maintaining the impeccable standards consistent with a luxury resort environment. The ability to communicate effectively in English, understand and follow verbal and written instructions, and uphold a neat appearance are all essential for success. Certification such as tuberculosis clearance is required, with CPR, first aid, and liquor commission card being preferred or able to be obtained.
The Banquet Porter at Kahala Hotel & Resort will be part of a vibrant and supportive team environment that prioritizes guest satisfaction and sustainability. Through this role, employees contribute to the seamless execution of prestigious events, cementing the resort’s position as a leader in luxury hospitality. Joining the Kahala Ohana goes beyond being a job—it is an opportunity to cultivate a rewarding career where commitment to excellence and cultural respect converge, providing both personal and professional growth.
