The role of Banquet Porter at Sodexo, specifically at the Descanso Gardens location, offers a part-time opportunity with a competitive pay rate of $21.00 per hour. This position plays a critical role in the successful execution of banquet and catered events by providing on-floor leadership and coordination. As a Banquet Porter, you will be the primary service lead for assigned events, responsible for ensuring service delivery aligns with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), timelines, and service standards. The role involves actively participating in event setup, service, and breakdown while maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction, clear communication, and attention to detail. You will work closely with the Banquet Supervisor, culinary team, and other service staff to ensure events run smoothly and professionally. This dynamic role may vary depending on the size and style of the event as well as specific business requirements.

In this role, you will also assist with training and onboarding new banquet service staff, ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, HACCP protocols, and alcohol service policies. Physical demands include the ability to frequently lift and move items up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Punctuality and reliability are essential.
