The role of Banquet Captain at Fontainebleau Miami Beach is a pivotal position responsible for ensuring the flawless execution of catered events. This role demands a detail-oriented and experienced professional who will oversee the planning, setup, execution, and teardown phases of all banquet functions. The Banquet Captain serves as the main point of contact between the event host and the service team throughout the event, ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction. Job Requirements

High school education or equivalent
Minimum of three years relevant experience in high quality, high volume catering and convention operation
Two years supervisory experience preferred
Ability to communicate effectively
Effective supervisory and communication skills
Well organized with strong problem solving skills
Ability to develop strong professional relationships with vendors, guests and employees

Job Duties

Interview and make recommendation for hiring of banquet service staff
Conduct lineups with the staff at the start of each shift
Review assignments and steps of service for each event
Greet host (on-site contact) for assigned event(s) and stay in contact throughout the event(s)
Coordinate and communicate event details both verbally and in writing to service team
Prepare reports detailing the function and comments of the host
Review BEO for accuracy and raise concerns to appropriate CSM
Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service to all Fontainebleau guests
Use sound judgment to make appropriate decisions ensuring guest satisfaction and fiscal boundaries
Use cash register or point of sale system as needed
Close banquet checks ensuring accuracy and note discrepancies
Evaluate team member concerns and take immediate action if needed complying with all guidelines
Communicate with guests during the function to attend to their requests and general needs
Work closely with audio-visual representative on setup of microphones, lighting and general needs
Train and supervise new personnel in the Banquet department
Perform other related duties as assigned
