Job Description
Hilton Boston Park Plaza is a distinguished full-service hotel located conveniently in downtown Boston, steps away from the Public Garden, the Theater District, and many of the city’s most popular historic sites. With a rich history that complements its prominent location, this property boasts an impressive 1,060 guest rooms, four dining outlets, and more than 70,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space. The hotel’s extensive facilities make it a popular choice for both business meetings and social events, setting a high standard for hospitality and guest experience in the area.
As part of the globally recognized Hilton brand, which has been a leader in the hospitality industry since 1919, Hilton Boston Park Plaza maintains a commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. Hilton’s vision is to "fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality," and the Boston Park Plaza exemplifies this mission by providing exceptional service and memorable stays for all guests.
The role of the Banquet Manager at Hilton Boston Park Plaza is a key leadership position reporting directly to the Director of Banquets. This full-time role involves overseeing a union banquet team of more than 20 members to ensure flawless execution of all banquet and meeting functions. The Banquet Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations related to banquet events, ensuring that all functions are set up accurately and timely, as well as maintained to the highest standards of health, safety, and sanitation.
With a salary range between $73,000 and $77,000 annually, this role offers not only competitive compensation but also access to Hilton’s comprehensive benefits package. The Banquet Manager must have at least three years of experience working in banquet and banquet set-up roles within hotels that house 500 or more rooms and feature 50,000-plus square feet of meeting or event space. Prior experience in managing union teams is preferred, and candidates should be available to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Key responsibilities include managing and leading banquet and facilities housepersons, overseeing function room breakdowns and equipment storage, ensuring compliance with alcohol awareness and other safety standards, and coordinating with multiple departments to align event specifications and procedures. The Banquet Manager will also be involved in performance management—offering supervision, scheduling, counseling, evaluations, and recognition of team members—and will play a pivotal role in recruiting, interviewing, and training banquet staff.
Hilton actively promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace with programs designed to support both the mental and physical wellbeing of its team members. Employees benefit from innovative programs such as DailyPay, medical insurance, mental health resources, paid time off, an employee stock purchase program, parental leave, education assistance, and career growth opportunities. Tools like the Go Hilton travel program and Employee Resource Groups foster a vibrant community and support professional development.
This position offers exciting opportunities for experienced banquet professionals who are ready to take a leadership step within a renowned hospitality brand. The Hilton Boston Park Plaza not only emphasizes the importance of delivering exceptional guest experiences but also fosters a working environment that champions integrity, teamwork, leadership, quality, and dependability. Joining as a Banquet Manager means becoming part of a global legacy that has shaped the hospitality industry for nearly a century, driven by a strong team of dedicated individuals committed to excellence and innovation.
