Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Ability to manage banquet operations including scheduling, inventory, and staff supervision
  • Knowledge of laws related to events and compliance
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to delegate and motivate team
  • Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with guests and staff
  • Competence in maintaining sanitation and safety standards
  • Capability to handle guest complaints and problem resolution
  • Experience in financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection
  • Willingness to work full-time at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of banquet operations and event laws
  • Ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
  • Budget and inventory management experience

  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Familiarity with food and wine pairings and current event trends

Job Duties

  • Project supply needs for the department including china, glassware, silverware, buffet presentations, and props
  • Apply knowledge of laws as they relate to events
  • Manage banquet operations to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Adhere to and enforce all standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain established sanitation levels
  • Manage departmental inventories and equipment
  • Control liquor costs and manage banquet beverage inventory
  • Schedule banquet service staff according to forecast and service standards
  • Develop lasting relationships with groups to retain business and encourage growth
  • Set goals and delegate tasks to improve departmental performance
  • Conduct monthly department meetings with banquet team
  • Broaden knowledge of food and wine pairings and current event trends
  • Act as liaison to kitchen staff
  • Lead shifts and participate in servicing events
  • Set a positive example for guest relations
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback
  • Respond to and resolve guest problems and complaints
  • Empower employees to provide excellent service
  • Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Emphasize guest satisfaction in meetings and focus on continuous improvement
  • Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with staff
  • Communicate and execute emergency procedures and ensure staff training
  • Observe employee service behavior and provide feedback
  • Monitor progress and lead discussions with staff
  • Participate in corrective action plans
  • Review meeting planner survey results and develop improvement plans
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings
